I pulled out my sewing machine for the first time a few weeks ago because I needed to make some curtains for the living room. At that point I didn't even know how to thread the bobbin or the needle. I used this excellent video tutorial I found on YouTube. It was the only one I could find that made sense to me, and the top of her sewing machine looks just like mine.  With thread in the machine I soon discovered that I am in love with sewing. I did a little bit of sewing growing up, but I never found it very exciting. I think the problem was all the annoying pattern cutting! I have decided that I am a no pattern kind of girl. I have made 2 purses, 2 dresses for my girls, a pair of jean shorts, a cute top, and some coasters! I am now constantly searching the internet and magazines for inspiration for new sewing projects. I find myself looking at the seams and insides of my clothing to see how it was made. I believe I can be officially diagnosed as obsessed!
